A night at the races

Hey guys, Today I'm going to be bringing you with me to a Friday night out at the races! last Friday it was my boyfriends birthday so to celebrate we went on a double date to the races, and indulged in a 4 course meal for only £60pp which may initially sound steep but this covers all 3 meals, table service and first class seats in the beautiful restaurant with front row seats beside the finish line of the race course so you can watch the horses finish their race while u eat your meal, and if your lucky hopefully win some money too!    First course - Starter I was looking forward to my starter the most this time at the races as we had gotten the menu emailed to us and had gone in knowing what I was going to eat already, For the starter we had the choice of 4 dishes, potato and leek soup, mushroom and chicken vol au vent, salmon salad and Caesar salad. I opted for the soup as this is my favourite type of soup so I was very excited to see this on the menu and it was stunning. The...

Harlem, Belfast

Today while craving some pancakes I decided to visit Harlem for my Breakfast, and it did not disappoint! the interior of Harlem is truly as good as the food creating a warm and cosy atmosphere, the picture filled walls let the place looking youthful inside meaning you could never get bored as you looked at all the different pictures on display. along with the fairy lights and what seems like hundreds of flowers hanging from the ceiling Harlem looks like the perfect place to indulge in a coffee in between classes to catch up with friends or on a cute date with a boy/girlfriend. Harlem is also decorated with colourful pompom like balls hanging from a tree giving it a playful look, which is also the perfect backdrop for pictures.

While visiting Harlem I was in the mood for pancakes, so that is exactly what I got. both me and my boyfriend decided to get the Nutella and strawberry pancakes and they were magical. the best thing about these pancakes had to be the fact that Harlem are not shy on the Nutella portions as these pancakes were hidden beneath the mountain of chocolate and the strawberries were so fresh and firm which was perfect as there is nothing worse than a soggy strawberry. The pancakes also had sesame seeds in the chocolate which I they would have been nicer without so beware of that if you do plan on
getting the same.

My only complaint about eating in Harlem is just how busy it actually was, due to this we had to share a table with 2 other customers we didn't know which felt a bit strange at the time. the staff were also clearly stressed which led to some errors with our meal, so if you are not a fan of busy cafes or crowds maybe avoid Harlem on the weekends and stick to less peak times if you are planning on visiting.

stayed tuned for more yummy meals coming up on my page, including a day at the races and a birthday meal!! :)
