A night at the races

Hey guys, Today I'm going to be bringing you with me to a Friday night out at the races! last Friday it was my boyfriends birthday so to celebrate we went on a double date to the races, and indulged in a 4 course meal for only £60pp which may initially sound steep but this covers all 3 meals, table service and first class seats in the beautiful restaurant with front row seats beside the finish line of the race course so you can watch the horses finish their race while u eat your meal, and if your lucky hopefully win some money too!    First course - Starter I was looking forward to my starter the most this time at the races as we had gotten the menu emailed to us and had gone in knowing what I was going to eat already, For the starter we had the choice of 4 dishes, potato and leek soup, mushroom and chicken vol au vent, salmon salad and Caesar salad. I opted for the soup as this is my favourite type of soup so I was very excited to see this on the menu and it was stunning. The...

Today I am going to be discussing and sharing the best places for students to eat out around Belfast, these bars and restaurants are based heavily around student lifestyle and offer the prices to prove it acting as the perfect place to go to a quick meal or for a chill night out.

Haymarket

Starting out with Haymarket, which has recently become popular with students living in Belfast, offering a different event every night Haymarket is the perfect place for students to both get food and have a fun night out, they offer a range of nights out including their 2 4 1 cocktails every Wednesday to Friday, Wednesday quiz nights and student brunch deals enjoying 90 minutes of bottomless cocktails and street food for 90 mins at just 25pp. Haymarket offers an all day menu filled with pizzas, burgers, loaded fries, nachos and also offer a range of vegan dishes. Only 5 minutes from the city centre and from ulster university this is the perfect student hangout.

The Parlour

The second place that is popular with students is the parlour, just across the road from Queens student union the parlour is in the perfect area for Queens students and students living in the Holylands who are looking for cheap meal. the Parlour offers pizza, frites, chicken dishes, burgers and even offer a sharing platter for just £10. It is also perfect for students who are looking a cheap drink for pres before a night out, or a lovely atmosphere to spend the full night as live music is performed almost every night and drink promos targeted at students. The parlour also offers a £6 lunch meal which is perfect for those on a budget.

Maggie Mays

The third place I wanted to share with you all is Maggie mays, although it is not a bar but more of a cafe setting it is still a great place for students to hang out offering a massive range of food from breakfast to dinner. Maggie mays is famous for its breakfast fry’s featuring in “top 10 best full breakfasts” in Belfast and some Ireland articles. But that’s not all they do as they offer a full range of breakfasts including the famous “Belfast bap” along with lunch foods such as burgers and chicken goujons to fish and chips. Maggie mays is also known for their famous extravagant milkshakes which are beautiful. They offer not only normal milkshakes but special milkshakes such as Nutella and Oreo but also alcoholic milkshakes for those who are feeling something a bit different. With 2 different cafes located around Queens university this is accessible to students living and traveling to uni who may want a snack in between or before classes.

The Hatfield

The Hatfield is one of the oldest bars in Belfast and one of the most popular bars with students especially on a Tuesday and Sunday night. Along with good drinks and a unreal atmosphere the Hatfield also offers food for both sit-in and takeaway/delivery. This is perfect for students who are craving a pub grub or want a quick side while out for the night. They also offer delivery services which is perfect for cold, wet nights when you don't want to leave the house. Furthermore the Hatfield even offers drink delivery services perfect for a last minute pres session.
